平遥古城历史发展沿革

平遥古城始建于公元前827年～前782年间的周宣王时期，为西周大将尹吉甫驻军于此而建。

春秋时属晋国，战国属赵国。秦置平陶县，汉置中都县，为宗亲代王的都城。北魏改名为平遥县。

明朝初年，为防御外族南扰，始建城墙。

洪武三年（公元1370年）在旧墙垣基础上重筑扩修，并全面包砖。以后景泰、正德、嘉靖、隆庆和万历各代进行过十次的补修和修葺，更新城楼，增设敌台。

康熙四十三年（公元1703年）因皇帝西巡路经平遥，而筑了四面大城楼，使城池更加壮观。平遥城墙总周长6163米，墙高约12米，把面积约2.25平方公里的平遥县城一隔为两个风格迥异的世界。

1986年，国务院公布平遥古城为第二批国家历史文化名城之一。

1997年12月，整座古城申报世界文化遗产获得成功。

1999年9月，平遥县旅游局因旅游发展的需要从平遥县文物旅游局分设单列。

从2000年开始，“我在平遥过大年”活动和晋商社火节逐步形成发展为平遥中国年大型喜迎春节系列活动，每年腊月二十三至正月十六在平遥古城举行。

2001年，举办首届平遥国际摄影大展。

2007年11月19日，平遥古城获得由中国旅游论坛组委会授予的“中国最佳休闲旅游县”、“中国十大古城”的荣誉称号。

2013年，我国第一部大型情境体验演出项目《又见平遥》推出。

2014年4月3日，电影《风雨日升昌》合作拍摄协议在平遥古城签署。

2014年5月，《电影梦想家》取景平遥古城。

2014年8月10日，中央电视台中文国际频道（CCTV4）《城市一对一》栏目播出《古城故事》平遥专题。

2014年9月13日，山西平遥县城乡规划局2012年启动的首批上百年古民居修缮工程已进入收尾阶段。政府投资六七百万元对首批48处私家传统民居修缮进行资金补偿，使百年老宅又恢复了古色古香的传统风貌。2014年规划局启动了39户第二批修缮工程，待修缮方案敲定后，将正式开展维修工作。

2015年7月12日，传承·爱——首届空国际瑜伽艺术节在又见平遥剧场举行。

2015年7月13日，平遥古城被评为为国家5A级旅游景点。

The historical development of Pingyao ancient city

The ancient city of Pingyao was built during the reign of King Xuan of Zhou from 827 BC to 782 BC, and was garrison by Yin Jifu, a general of the Western Zhou Dynasty.

The Spring and Autumn Period belonged to the State of Jin and the Warring States Period to the State of Zhao. Qin Pingtao County, Han Dynasty in the county, as the capital of the king. The Northern Wei Dynasty was renamed Pingyao County.

In the early Ming Dynasty, the city wall was built to prevent the southern disturbance of foreign families.

In the third year of Hongwu (1370 AD), it was rebuilt and expanded on the basis of the old walls, and fully wrapped with bricks. Later, Jingtai, Zhengde, Jiajing, Longqing and Wanli repaired ten times to renovate the towers and add the enemy platform.

In the forty-third year of Kangxi's reign (1703 AD), the emperor toured the west and built large towers, which made the city more spectacular. The total circumference of Pingyao city wall is 6,163 meters and about 12 meters high, separating Pingyao county with an area of 2.25 square kilometers into two different styles.

In 1986, The State Council announced pingyao Ancient City as one of the second batch of national historical and cultural cities.

In December 1997, the whole ancient city was successfully declared as a World Cultural Heritage site.

In September 1999, Pingyao County Tourism Bureau was divided from Pingyao County Cultural Relics Tourism Bureau due to the needs of tourism development.

Since 2000, the activities of "I celebrate the New Year in Pingyao" and the Jinshang Society Fire Festival have gradually developed into a large-scale series of activities to celebrate the Spring Festival in Pingyao, which are held in the ancient city of Pingyao from the 23rd day of the twelfth lunar month to the 16th day of the first lunar month.

In 2001, the first Pingyao International Photography Exhibition was held.

On November 19,2007, Pingyao Ancient City was awarded the honorary title of "China's Best Leisure Tourism County" and "China's Top Ten Ancient Cities" by the Organizing Committee of China Tourism Forum.

In 2013, China's first large-scale situational experience performance project "See Pingyao again" was launched.

On April 3,2014, the cooperative shooting agreement of the film "Wind and Rain Day" was signed in Pingyao Ancient City.

In May 2014, the movie dreamer was shot in the ancient city of Pingyao.

On August 10,2014, the program "City One to One" of CCTV Chinese International Channel (CCTV4) broadcast the special topic of "Ancient City Story" in Pingyao.

On September 13,2014, the first batch of century-old residential renovation project launched by Shanxi Pingyao County Urban and Rural Planning Bureau in 2012 has entered the final stage. The government invested 6 to 7 million yuan to compensate for the renovation of the first 48 private traditional dwellings, restoring the century-old houses. In 2014, the Planning Bureau launched the second batch of renovation projects for 39 households, and after the renovation plan is finalized, the maintenance work will be officially carried out.

On July 12,2015, the first air International Yoga Art Festival was held in the Pingyao Theater.

On July 13,2015, Pingyao Ancient City was rated as a national 5A tourist attraction.
